NHA plays the lead role in advocating for increased funding for the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), one of the most important sources of support for the humanities in the United States. In addition to NEH, the Alliance monitors a broad range of federal humanities programs (see Federal Funding Priorities and News for updates on NEH and other agencies). NHA is also concerned with policy issues beyond funding, such as scholarly communication, and federal data collection in the humanities.
