NHA provides members opportunities throughout the year for discussion of humanities policy issues and other topics of interest to the organization, including the NHA Annual Membership Meeting and Humanities Advocacy Day, an event held in Washington, DC each year to communicate the public value of the humanities to Congress.

In 2007, NHA began to jointly convene the Annual Membership Meeting and Humanities Advocacy Day in Washington, DC. The enhanced program provides added value for traditional participants of both meetings.
