Government Affairs Overview

The National Humanities Alliance works to advance the cause of the humanities by promoting the common interests of its members with regard to national policy, programs, and legislation that impact work in the humanities.  NHA carries out this mission by:

  • acting as a liaison between its members, congress and the executive branch
  • serving as an information clearinghouse on policy and legislation impacting work in the humanities
  • engaging in advocacy to promote support for humanities research and public programs
  • representing all members or groups of members in actions aimed at influencing national policy
