Arts & Humanities Research Council of the United Kingdom to Co-Host Event on Public Engagement in the Arts and Humanities

June 16, 2010 - The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) of the United Kingdom and the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement are joining forces to present an event addressing public engagement in the arts and humanities. How can the work of academics, researchers, and professionals in the arts and humanities engage the public for the benefit of themselves, their students, their organizations, and the public itself? The June 16 event in London will begin with this question and examine both the strategic and practical challenges facing those working in the arts and humanities.

Short presentations will explore the challenges and opportunities faced by the sector while afternoon workshop sessions will build on the morning’s case studies and encourage a strongly practical focus for the event. A key objective of the day will be the development of an action plan that promotes the embedding of public engagement across the arts and humanities.

Additional information about the event is available on the AHRC's website
