Current Continuing Resolution to Expire on April 8

March 31, 2011 – Congress is currently operating under a continuing resolution (CR) for FY 2011 that was signed by the President on March 16. This is the sixth CR passed for the current fiscal year. Negotiations are currently underway between House and Senate leaders and the White House on a possible plan to cut $33 billion from the FY 2010 levels in order to finalize 2011 year-end funding. Congressional leaders will also need to work through several controversial policy provisions before coming to agreement on a final deal. HR 1, which passed in the House earlier this year, aimed to cut $61.5 billion in spending. NEH, like many other agencies, is currently operating at its FY 2010 funding level.

Additional information on the current CR is available here.
