The full House Appropriations Committee met on Thursday, June 18 to markup the FY 2010 spending bill for Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies. The Committee kept the overall funding level of $170 million for the National Endowment for the Humanities that was recommended by the Subcommittee but revised the original programmatic allocations through a manager's amendment. The Committee also rejected the President's proposal to transfer the (currently independent) National Capital Arts and Cultural Affairs program to the NEH to be run as a competitive grant program.
