September 14, 2012 - The 12th annual Library of Congress National Book Festival will be held on the National Mall on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23. More than 100 authors, illustrators, and poets will make presentations on the National Mall throughout the weekend in themed pavilions. This year, the Library of Congress Pavilion will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the many ways the Library brings its resources to people everywhere. A Pavilion of the States, sponsored by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, will salute the literary traditions of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories. The National Endowment for the Humanities is providing funds to the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress for its festival-related activities and will support participation in the Pavilion of the States by ten humanities-based state centers for the book.
Additional information about the festival is available on the Library of Congress website.
