August 26, 2010 – On August 10, the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) announced $31.5 million in grants for 201 humanities projects. Institutions and scholars in 41 states will receive NEH support. Grants were awarded in twelve categories:

- Digital Humanities Start-up Grants
- Summer Seminars and Institutes for College and University Teachers Grants
- Summer Seminars and Institutes for School Teachers Grants
- Landmarks of American History and Culture: Workshops for School Teachers
- Landmarks of American History and Culture: Workshops for Community College Faculty
- America’s Historical and Cultural Organizations: Planning & Implementation Grants
- Interpreting America’s Historic Places: Planning & Implementation Grants
- America’s Media Makers: Development & Production Grants
- Bridging Cultures: Planning and Implementation Grants for Academic Forums and Program Development Grants
- NEH on the Road Grants
- Challenge Grants
