Senate Subcommittee Allocates Less Money than the House for NEH

The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies met briefly today to markup their FY 2010 spending bill.  The bill includes a total of $161.3 million for both the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts, an increase of $6.3 million above the 2009 enacted level for each agency.

Last week, the full House Appropriations Committee included $170 million for the NEH and NEA in their spending bill.  The full Senate Appropriations Committee is scheduled to markup on Thursday, June 25.
