On Tuesday, March 10, advocates will visit Members of Congress or their staff with state-based delegations. NHA schedules these meetings in advance on behalf of all advocates. Before we meet in D.C., participants will be introduced to their advocacy group via email and receive advocacy training resources and profiles of the Members of Congress whose offices they will visit. At the annual meeting, all advocates will have time to meet with their groups to discuss strategy and logistics for the following day.

Our Advocacy Guide, which will be updated for 2020, offers an overview of how to prepare for, conduct, and follow up on Hill meetings. NEH for All has compelling examples of NEH-supported work and impact areas to help advocates educate Congress about the role of the NEH. The NEH grants database, meanwhile, allows you to search grants to your state or congressional district.
